Through 10 episodes, the series discusses more than 60 individual cases of extrajudicial killings, assassination attempts, kidnappings, prison murders, and conspiratorial political set-ups, as well as all of the main waves of mass repression against the ideological and class enemy (post-war crimes against prisoners, conflicts with the church and citizen politicians, Informbiro and Goli Otok prison, repression of Serbian unitarianists, the suppression of the Croatian Spring;). It also analyses the war between the secret service and guerrilla groups (Četniks, Crusaders, the Bugojno group).
